6 sweat-proof colours (that aren't black) to brighten up your workout wardrobe and beat gym boredom
As fitness fanatics and gym-goers, we know that the sign of a good workout is some serious sweating. And as much as we love the feeling, the look is… less than ideal.
Yes, a classic all-black ensemble is probably your safest bet when it comes to sweat-proofing your gym 'fit, but, hey, sometimes we want to switch it up and ditch the monochromatic look (cue offended gasps from our fashion editor).
The good news? There are more colours on the spectrum that not only hide sweat from a hard workout but also let you experiment and have fun with your gym style.
What colours are sweatproof?
The best colours you can turn to for sweatproof looks are usually dark tones, but also lighter colours closer to white. Try to avoid greys as they lack contrast to hide sweat, they're often the worst offenders.
It's best to avoid brighter colours, particularly bright red, that sit in the middle of the colour wheel if you're planning on having a particularly heavy workout as these do tend to show the sweat more, but don't worry you can still add some colour into your looks with these easy tips.

Rich burgundy
You don't have to go all the way to avoid the sweat patches, head towards the darker end of the colour spectrum towards really rich deep reds, the darker the better. Not only do these stunning jewel tones suit a variety of skin colours but they offer a point of difference away from everyday all blacks.
