Although the new year is full of well-known holidays, there might be a couple of special days people might not be aware of. For those who love saving money by getting special discounts on treats, it’s probably best to mark your calendars for these amazing days.

There are actually at least five secret discount days in January that celebrate iconic desserts and breakfast items like pies, peanut butter, bagels, croissants, and of course, chocolate cake. Some of them are free or discounted to anyone, while other businesses require customers to join a free rewards program first.

Here are five secret discount days to keep an eye on in January.

National Bagel Day

For those who love bagels for breakfast (or any time of day, let’s be honest), make sure to remember that January 15 is National Bagel Day.

Members of the Einstein Bros. Bagels free loyalty rewards program get a free bagel and cream cheese with any purchase. Manhattan Bagel also offers a free bagel with cream cheese to customers who sign up for their loyalty program.

National Pie Day

Not to be confused with National Pi Day (March 14), National Pie Day is on January 23. Several restaurants have offered deals on pies in the past, including Shoney’s, which offered a free strawberry pie last year to celebrate the day.

Other restaurants that have offered deals in the past include Burger King, Buttermilk Sky Pie, Kermit’s Key Lime Shop, Southern Baked Pie Company, and others. Make sure to look up bakeries and shops in your local area to see if any are participating.

National Peanut Butter Day

National Peanut Butter Day is January 24, and for people who love and adore it, many companies offer discounts.

Last year, Today reported that several businesses, including Dylan’s Candy Bar, Insomnia Cookies, Justin’s, KIND, Magic Spoon, and others, offered discounts of up to 25% off peanut butter snacks and treats.

National Chocolate Cake Day

Chocolate cake should have its own day, and luckily, it’s January 27. On this day, several different dining establishments offer promotions, meaning customers can get this delicious treat at a discount.

Some businesses that have offered deals in the past on this day include Baked By Melissa, Chili’s and Magnolia Bakery.

National Croissant Day

Last, but certainly not least, National Croissant Day is January 30. There’s no better way to end the first month of the year than with a delicious croissant.

Several restaurants, bakeries and food chains participate in this special day, including Wendy’s, Burger King, and Paris Baguette. Some of the deals include getting croissants for 1 cent or buy one, get one free deals.
