5 Minutes With Ariana Grande: The Singer Talks Designing For Lipsy And Her Snapchat Obsession

With less than a month to go until the release of her third studio album, ‘Dangerous Woman’, Ariana Grande music schedule isn’t letting up, and nor is her fashion schedule, as he second collection for Lipsy lands today.
We caught up with the singer to hear about her new must-haves for the high street store, her style tips, plus we got the behind the scenes scoop on her time starring in Scream Queens, and heard how she’s kept her “feet firmly on the ground” during her meteoric rise to fame.

Yahoo Style: This is your second collection for Lipsy, what inspired it?
Ariana: I get inspiration from everywhere! I love looking at social media for inspiration. This second collection is full of flirty and fun looks that are perfect for summer.
YS: What are your favourite pieces?
AG: I really love the violet floral printed dress with the apron neckline. It feels really feminine and perfect for summer. I also love the cute crop tops and matching skirts- especially the cornflower blue bralet and mini.
YS: And your tips for styling them?
AG: All of the pieces in the collection can easily be dressed up or down. The dresses just need some cute jewellery and a pair of killer heels or they could be really pretty with a pair of sandals too.
YS: What’s your favourite part of getting ready for a night out?
AG: Its fun getting dressed up for special occasions. I love listening to music while I do my hair and makeup.
YS: You’ve been to some huge awards nights. What’s the most stressful part about getting ready?
AG: Getting to wear a beautiful outfit and having my hair and makeup done is so much fun. I’m usually with my friends to get ready so they help make it easy. The only time its stressful is when I am running late, that’s when I get nervous!

YS: You’ve starred in Scream Queens - which is pretty much a who’s-who of young, talented Hollywood. What’s it like on set with so many influential young actors?
AG: I loved getting to be on Scream Queens. I loved it so much I begged Ryan Murphy to come back for more. The cast is so talented and everyone was so fun to be around.
YS: You’re juggling so much between your music, fashion design, acting etc. What do you do when you get a chance to take some time off?
AG: I love working but it’s nice to get a break from time to time. When I can, I love to just be home with my family and friends. We always end up watching silly videos and laughing.
YS: If you had to quit one social media platform which one would you choose and why?
AG: Oh, that is such a hard one!!! I don’t think I could quit any because I love interacting with my amazing fans. Currently I am obsessed with Snapchat. Can’t I give up something else instead?!?
YS: What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
AG: Stay true to who you are and keep your feet firmly on the ground and surround yourself with positive people that love you. My family and friends are the best support network I could ask for.
