This 3-Ingredient Dip Is My Favorite Afternoon Snack
Eating an extra serving of veggies is far more fun when this dip joins the party. Especially when it takes only 60 seconds to make.
“Eat your vegetables” is a common refrain at many dinner tables. Sorry to break it to all the parents out there, but few of us are. According to CDC estimates, only one in 10 American adults consume their recommended servings of vegetables per day. (By the way, the suggested Rx for women is 2 to 3 cups daily, and for men, it’s 3 to 4 cups.)
As a child who grew up on a steady diet of chicken nuggets and ketchup, chips and salsa, and breadsticks and marinara, a lesson I learned early is that almost everything is more enjoyable and enticing when you can dip it.
Now that I’m an adult and have grown to enjoy the flavors of a wide array of vegetables—and have learned the wide-ranging health benefits of fiber, something that’s found in strong supply in produce—I’ve prioritized incorporating a couple servings of vegetables at dinner. I’m usually able to sneak in one at lunch, too.
Then to help round things out, ensure I get my daily dose of vegetables, and to add even more nutrition to my menu, I’ve started a daily habit of taking an afternoon “dip.” Which means now I can say with confidence that I’ve created the all-time most delicious recipe for that daily ritual (it’s also the easiest to stir up): my 3-Ingredient Honey Mustard Dip!
Why This Honey Mustard Dip Is the Dip To Rule Them All
In tandem with the fiber in the veggies I serve on the side, this is a hunger-crushing combo that I’ve found works like a charm to provide extra energy to prevent the mid-afternoon yawns—all while offering enticing and anxiety-reducing crunch. And since it starts with a scoop of plain Greek yogurt, my go-to homemade vegetable dip also delivers a little protein as well.
The star ingredient of this quick and easy dip recipe is honey mustard, one of the most-used items in my “condiment capsule wardrobe.” The mustard lends sweetness, tang, and loads of flavor, then lemon juice joins the party to loosen things up to a dunkable consistency and lend a burst of freshness.
When I’m in the mood for a garlicky, salty punch, I stir in a few shakes of everything bagel seasoning, although this is completely optional. I recommend omitting the seasoning blend if you’re making this dip in advance, as the dried aromatics can cause the dip to build up moisture and separate. (This isn’t a dealbreaker, though; simply give the dip a stir before enjoying round two and it will be about as good as new.)
While I could continue to rave about the flavor and lusciously creamy consistency of this dip, the one feature that cements it as a daily staple in my life is how fast and simple it is to whip up. Each batch takes less than 60 seconds to stir together.

How to Use This Easy Honey Mustard Dip Recipe
Once my dip is ready to devour, I typically add a side of sliced carrots, celery, cucumber, and/or pepper wedges, depending on what I have on hand, and scoop away.
This is far from the only potential use for this Greek yogurt-honey mustard dip, though. Memorize this recipe, then bust it out to use as a dip, sauce, or drizzle with any of the following items:
