The 29 Best Beauty Products Fashionista Editors Tried in June

Each month, Fashionista editors try a *lot* of beauty products. And while not every formula we test is a winner, we're constantly unearthing new favorites. Here, we've rounded up our latest hair, skin, fragrance, wellness and makeup discoveries — whether fresh-to-market drops or merely recent additions to our personal routines.

Summer has plenty of lovely things to offer, but humidity-induced frizz, melted makeup and sweat stains are not among them. Team Fashionista is taking on the season's heatwaves by incorporating a whole bunch of new beauty products into our routines.

In our quest to fight summertime frizz and dullness, we paid extra attention to our hair this June with a lightweight mousse perfect for effortless air-dry styles, a leave-in conditioner that makes strands silky smooth and a tap-on pigmented dry shampoo. We enhanced our skin-care routines with a variety of sunscreen formulas (see: a delightful whipped mousse and a sun-ready tinted lip balm), as well as a benzoyl peroxide acne-fighting mask and a high-impact eye cream. We also focused on summer-proofing our makeup looks via a sweat-resistant cream blush, a velvety waterproof lip liner and a peach-toned setting powder that achieves a creaseless finish.

Sofie Pavitt Reset Benzoyl Peroxide Acne Treatment Mask, $44, available here: "Benzoyl peroxide is lauded for its pimple-fighting effectiveness, but it can also cause irritation and redness. Sofie Pavitt — a New York City-based facialist known for her magical abilities to heal acne — suggests using the ingredient as a wash-off treatment to prevent those side effects, so she created this mask, designed to be rinsed off after 20 minutes. It's been working wonders on my hormonal breakouts lately." —Stephanie Saltzman, Beauty Director

Loewe Tomato Leaves Candle, $110, available here: "It only takes one whiff of this luxurious candle to unlock core childhood memories of time spent with my grandfather, tending to his vegetable garden. It offers a tomato scent in its purest form, and has a strong, lingering aroma that spans my entire apartment." —Janelle Sessoms, Staff Writer

Dae Mirage Mist Leave-In Conditioner, $30, available here: "Managing my warm weather-induced frizz can feel like a full-time job, but this lightweight leave-in mist has been a game changer. In addition to quelling frizz, the citrus-scented formula also offers heat protection and a little extra control for air-drying." —Catie Pusateri, Contributing Writer

Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Island Glow Lip & Cheek Tint in Pinched Cheek Glow, $40, available here: "I've found myself reaching for this new dual-purpose lip and cheek pigment so often that I've stuck it in my purse for an on-the-go glow, too. It's vibrant — but not overbearing or unmanageable — and gives me a rosy, natural-looking flush." —Brooke Frischer, Staff Writer and Social Lead

Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm Iced Coffee, $24, available here: "This tinted lip balm was love at first swipe: I was immediately taken by its scrumptious scent of sweet coffee and brownish tint — and, of course, I love that the shea butter-based formula is so moisturizing." —Andrea Bossi, Staff Writer

Lumify Eye Illuminations Hydra-Gel Eye Cream, $24, available here: "All my life, my biggest complexion woe has been my dark undereyes. Just like Lumify's brightening eye drops, this illuminating eye cream is impressively impactful. The first morning I awoke after use, I literally did a double-take in the mirror thinking I'd left concealer on — nope, it just worked that well. I also tend to experience milia from heavy eye creams, but this lightweight gel hasn't caused them." —Savannah Sitton, Contributing Market Editor

Biolage Scalp Sync Clarifying Shampoo, $24, available here: "I'm loving this clarifying shampoo for a scalp reset. I rely on it to get my hair wash schedule back on track after a particularly sweaty workout or using heavy products. I recommend lathering and leaving it in the hair for the duration of a shower for the best effect." —Emma Greene, Editorial Intern

Crown Affair The Texturizing Air Dry Mousse, $38, available here: "I really try to lean into air-drying when it's hot out — both because it's healthier for hair, and also because I'm lazy (and time spent with hot tools during 90-degree humidity is my idea of torture). This airy, lightweight mousse lends soft structure and texture to my otherwise puffy hair, without making it crispy or stiff. I can even use a generous amount on my fine strands without worrying it'll cause icky buildup." —Steph

Ami Colé Soft Shape Waterproof Lip Liner, $18, available here: "Ami Colé's new lip liner applies so smoothly. The creamy formula is pigmented well and easy to blend with lipstick or bare fingers for an ombre finish. Brown lip liner with gloss is my go-to, and this pencil will be in my rotation for a while." —Andrea

Etude Dear Darling Water Tint, $7, available here: "As much as I love the look of cherry-stained lips and cheeks for the summer, using the real thing is a bit too sticky for my liking. This vibrantly pigmented, smudge-proof formula achieves the same look without the fruity residue and, most importantly, without drawing the attention of bugs." —Brooke

Glo Skin Beauty Cream Blush Stick, $40, available here: "As a profuse sweater, it's a challenge finding lightweight makeup that doesn't slip off five minutes after walking outside in New York's heatwave. This multitasking blush stick has proven to be a trooper, achieving highly pigmented color on my cheeks and eyelids that can last me all day without melting off." —Janelle

Saltair KP Body Smoother 5% Glycolic Acid Body Scrub, $16, available here: "It's bare legs season again, which means I'm shaving more often than I like to (which is never). My legs have a tendency to get rough and bumpy between shave sessions, and this glycolic acid-packed body scrub has helped smooth my skin without drying it out, due to the inclusion of hydrating kukui, coconut and macadamia oils. I use the sand-colored scrub once a week, and every time I'm left with softer, smoother legs." —Catie

Orebella Salted Muse Parfum, $72, available here: "I've worn this perfume every day since I bought it — it's a beachy, woody, floral scent that's perfect for summer. Plus, it's oil-based, so it lasts all day." —Emma

InnBeauty Project Sun Balm SPF 30 Broad Spectrum Lip Balm in Latte, $24, available here: "I've tried just about every sunscreen-enhanced lip product on the market, and nearly all of them leave me tasting the icky flavor of SPF all day — not exactly my idea of a summertime refreshment. I was amazed to discover that isn't the case with this beautiful balm, which relies on mineral sunscreen to offer SPF 30 protection; the perfect pinkish-beige tint doesn't hurt, either." —Steph

ITK Blemish Treatment Mist, $15, available here: "I use this spray-on treatment as a first step on clean skin to fight any blemish-causing bacteria and — thanks to the salicylic acid and peppermint oil — it provides a tingling effect that's both awakening and refreshing. It's also a great quick fix for body acne as well: I'll spray it around my bra line area when I know I've been sweating all day." —Savannah

Kaja Love Blur Semi-Matte Blurring Lip Balm in My Heart, $18, available here: "I'm a lip balm hoarder, and Kaja's newest launch has quickly become a regular in my purse, thanks to its moisturizing formula and pretty wash of color. It has a semi-matte finish, which gives off a natural-looking tint without sacrificing any hydration. The mauve-y shade My Heart is my current go-to for that my-lips-but-better blur." —Catie

Sol de Janeiro Rio Deo Aluminum-Free Refillable Deodorant Cheirosa '62, $16, available here: "I've been using natural deodorants for the past decade or so. Especially in a heatwave, it's a treasure to find ones that actually work and, on top of everything, smell great." —Andrea

One/Size by Patrick Starrr Ultimate Blurring Setting Powder in Ultra Peach, $34, available here: "I haven't changed my loose powder in 10 years (no, I'm not kidding), but when I saw one of my favorite TikTok beauty creators @MakeupByLexH — who has been advocating for a peach-toned undereye setting option for the last year — was involved in One/Size's new powder shade expansion, I knew I had to try it. The formula is extremely fine and super smooth, allowing for a creaseless finish and seamless blending. Plus, the peach-y tinted shade doubles as a color corrector, making my dark circles less visible than my previously preferred setting powder." —Brooke

Dionis Skincare Goat Butter Lip Mask, $15, available here: "Even in the humid summer weather, I've found myself dealing with cracked lips. Using this leave-on mask nightly has gone a long way toward bringing moisture back: The goat milk-, jojoba- and moringa oil-packed formula smooths and transforms my lips come morning." —Janelle

Prequel Sun Barrier Mineral Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 PA++++, $22, available here: "Besides the SPF level, the most important aspect of a sunscreen to me is whether or not it stings my eyes. Of course, I'm never not going to wear sunscreen, but stinging eyes is my final straw for any sunblock. Prequel's mineral sunscreen, however, has a slight pinkish hue that blends into a transparent finish and leaves my eyes tear-free all day long. Plus, SPF 50 is the perfect level of sun protection for my pale skin." —Catie

Eadem Le Chouchou Exfoliating + Softening Peptide Lip Balm in Butter Mochi, $24, available here: "Single-threat lip balms that simply moisturize can officially take a back seat: This is yet another supercharged, multi-tasking recent addition to my lip-care wardrobe. It gently exfoliates with hibiscus enzymes and lactic and pyruvic acids, while also hydrating, plumping and conditioning with a blend of butters, oils and peptides. It comes in four beautiful tints, but I'm also a fan of the clear one for a touch of pigment-free gloss." —Steph

I Dew Care Dark Brown Tap Secret, $18, available here: "This innovative tinted dry shampoo comes in a compact with a puff applicator that deposits the colored powder far more precisely than a spray-on might. It's very pigmented, which I find especially useful for targeting sparse areas on my scalp to fake volume and fill in gaps. One downside, though, is that the color does transfer rather easily, so I have to be mindful not to run my fingers through my scalp after using it." —Savannah

Saint Jane Beauty Luxury Sun Ritual Pore Smoothing Face Sunscreen SPF 30, $38, available here: "This is a fantastic mineral sunscreen option that leaves no white cast, yet still blurs my skin. I love how smoothly it goes on, leaving a slightly glow-y finish that also works as a makeup primer. Plus, it's lightweight enough that reapplying or using a sunscreen stick over it doesn't feel like I've smothered my face." —Andrea

Yves Saint Laurent Beauty Couture Mini Clutch Eyeshadow Palette in 400 Babylone Roses, $68, available here: "I can't remember the last time I used an eye shadow palette so frequently. This gorgeous, shimmery quad has been the hero product of my daily makeup routine for the last month. The finish isn't overwhelmingly glittery, but instead appears almost iridescent as it catches the light. I swipe the lightest pink across my lids after applying a separate deep bronze underneath, then wash the dark eggplant-like purple over the outer corners of my eyes, creating a soft but significant contrast. When I'm feeling the need for a little more sparkle, I take the same light pink over the high points of my face and double the product as a highlighter." —Brooke

Vacation Classic Whip SPF 30 Sunscreen Mousse, $22, available here: "My mom taught me not to play with my food, but she never said anything about sunscreen. Vacation's whipped cream sunscreen is, to put it simply, my new obsession. It looks, feels and even smells(ish) exactly like the edible dairy product — if not for the guarantee I'd be sent to the hospital, I might be tempted to eat it. As for its practicality, it checks off all the boxes: Dark-skin friendly (no white cast), SPF 30 and non-greasy finish." —Janelle

Snif Coco Shimmy, $65, available here: "As I continue to expand my fragrance horizons, Snif's summer-y Coco Shimmy has edged into my recent favorites. With refreshing notes of coconut, pineapple and tonka bean — as well as fun, distinctly summertime scents like sunscreen and surf wax — it was my go-to beach-ready fragrance while reporting at Miami Swim Week." —Catie

Jordan Samuel Antioxidant Treatment Emulsion, $65, available here: "This creamsicle-colored, medium-weight 'emulsion' (thicker than a standard serum, thinner than a cream) packs niacinamide, resveratrol (a polyphenol that can help with wound healing, and skin regeneration) astaxanthin (an antioxidant that's been shown to be more powerful than vitamin C) and peptides for a treatment that's protective and restorative. And because it doesn't contain vitamin C, it's less irritating than other antioxidant serums for my rosacea-prone complexion." —Steph

Skinbyvee Gua Sha Cryo Sticks, $128, available here: "My face usually resembles a puffer fish in the morning, so I love cooling tools like these sticks to help deflate as I start my day. Since these are weighted, it's easy to apply gentle but ample pressure to my lymph nodes. The cherry on top: These feel so refreshing on a scorching summer day." —Andrea

Beautyblender Make A Splash Blending Duo, $22, available here: "Maybe it's because I learned just about everything I know about makeup from watching YouTube tutorials in my youth, but I can't do my base without a makeup sponge (sorry, brushes). This turquoise sponge duo are the only tools I need for a seamless base, and I especially love the precision of the mini baby sponge — it fits right under my eyes to blend out concealer, and it's a great spot-correcting tool." —Catie

I love the <a href="https://howl.me/cmjT0adED76" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" data-ylk="slk:shampoo;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas" class="link ">shampoo</a> and <a href="https://howl.me/cmjT0w1hD7H" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" data-ylk="slk:conditioner;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas" class="link ">conditioner</a> as well, but the Leave-In is a favorite, as I'm able to use it without any additional styling products and still end up with just the right amount of curl definition and smoothness." —Dhani Mau, Editor in Chief</p>
