While Parasite picking up the Best Picture gong at the 92nd Academy Awards was a record-breaking moment, there was another, more low-key first as Leonardo DiCaprio finally made his awards show debut with girlfriend Camila Morrone.

It's the first time the private pair have attended an awards show together, although they opted for separate entrances as they both walked the red carpet solo.

However, inside Hollywood's Dolby Theater, 22-year-old Morrone and 45-year-old DiCaprio sat next to each other.

In December 2019, Morrone defended the 23-year age gap in their relationship in an interview with the Los Angeles Times.

"There's so many relationships in Hollywood – and in the history of the world – where people have large age gaps," she said. "I just think anyone should be able to date who they want to date."

DiCaprio's co-star in the Quentin Tarantino picture, Brad Pitt, did win in the Supporting Actor category though.

It marked the first ever acting Oscar for 56-year-old Pitt, who brought the audience to their feet with a rousing acceptance speech.

Six-time Academy Award nominee DiCaprio won Best Actor at the 88th Academy Awards for his part in The Revenant.
