Speeding truck ploughs into pile-up

Footage filmed by a Texas television station has captured the moment a truck ploughs into an earlier pile-up, hitting a state trooper and pinning another person up against a vehicle.

Police can be seen investigating the earlier accident when the lorry suddenly appears out of the fog behind them, giving them little time to run for cover.

Both the driver and the trooper were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and are expected to survive.
