Back of the net! Bizarre moment referee stands behind goal at a corner

This is the bizarre moment a referee at an amateur Sunday League football match in the West Midlands stood behind the goal as a corner was taken.

The peculiar spectacle took place during a Tamworth Sunday District League Divison 3 game between Glascote Swifts Reserves and Ankerside Rangers.

In the video, amateur referee Bob Jones signals with his arm up before moving behind the goal and then blowing his whistle.

"The referee's standing behind the goal, I've never seen that in all my life!" says the person filming the incident.

As the corner comes in and the goalkeeper catches the ball, the ref sprints back onto the field of play and tries to catch up with the action.
