Sparks rain down on The Hague after New Year's Eve bonfire goes out of control

Residents were forced to evacuate their homes in the early hours of this morning after a New Year's Eve beach bonfire got out of control at a coastal district of The Hague in the Netherlands.

Some onlookers reported their hair and coats had caught fire and one house was burned down, the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad reported.

This footage was taken near the coast by the Scheveningen district of The Hague.
