Charlize Theron: Its Hard for 'Gorgeous, Pretty Actresses Like Me'

It might sound wonderful to be a talented, beautiful, wealthy and successful woman - but according to Charlize Theron, it's not all it's cracked up to be.

The Oscar-winning actress opened up to GQ about some of the downsides of being good-looking in the film industry. It seems, in some cases, casting directors exclude pretty women when they're looking for someone to play a tough role.

Charlize is no shrinking violet when it comes to getting her teeth into a challenging role. She piled on the pounds and wore prosthetics to play serial killer Aileen Wuornos, a former prostitute who was executed for killing six men. Theron's performance won her an Academy Award in 2004.

And her more recent part as Imperator Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road required her unleash her inner fury as a survivor in a post-Apocalyptic world in which civilisation has collapsed.

Find out what she had to say.
