Andie MacDowell's Twitter rant after flight downgrade to 'tourist' class

Andie MacDowell has taken to Twitter after she paid for a first class ticket on an American Airlines flight - but was moved to 'tourist' class because of her dog.

The actress tweeted about her experience on Friday, writing: "@AmericanAir HELP I paid for first class & they put me in tourist because of my dog that I pre-booked & paid for."

She was heading to Salt Lake City when the incident occurred, adding: "Great people back in tourist, I had fun with them I just want to be reimbursed for the second part of my trip."

She said her rescue dog had actually behaved really well, but she just had not received the service she had paid for.

While some people mocked the tweet - one user wrote: "Ugh first world problems" - others defended Andie.

One user wrote: "She didn't gripe about being in tourist. Her issue was she paid for 1st class. Anyone would have been upset."

And Andie said she had booked the seat for the comfort of her rescue dog, and if she was compensated she would give the money to charity:

After causing quite a debate online, she seemed over it at the end of the day, writing: "I'm done with this for this tonight because I'm gonna drink wine with my friends got a big fundraiser tomorrow...a good life 💗."
