Dear Fixer,
In April this year, I bought a Volvo for £795. I part exchanged my Nissan Micra for £250 and paid the rest in cash.

However, the Volvo started whistling on the way home, so I called the company to express my concern about it.

I was told the car would be repaired and returned to me, and was given a courtesy car, which I later realised was not taxed.

The Volvo broke down again when it was being delivered back to me, so I asked for my money back as I had lost all confidence in the car.

I have had some money back, but am still owed £250. The courtesy car, a Citroen, is also still in my driveway and my contact at the company, which has now changed its name, is ignoring my calls and texts.

I want the car gone from my drive, my money back and my name removed from the Volvo's documents. Can you help?

K Williams, Plymouth

Dear Ms Williams
,
Under threat of having the Citroen courtesy car reported as abandoned on the government website, the company has now returned the final £250 and has had the Citroen removed from your drive.

Your details have also been removed from the paperwork of the Volvo at a meeting with a company representative.
