Jeb Bush wants Margaret Thatcher on new $10 bill
The new US $10 bill will feature its first female face when it is released in 2020, but which iconic woman should be immortalised in currency? Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush has a bright idea – why not adorn US currency with the Iron Lady herself, Maggie Thatcher?
Bush made the comment in a televised debate featuring himself against rivals Ben Carson, Mike Huckabee and Donald Trump, saying: "I would go with Ronald Reagan's partner, Margaret Thatcher," although he later added it was "probably illegal". Oops.
But that little setback hasn't stopped Twitter from going mad for the suggestion.
Naturally, there have been knock-ups of the Maggie money.
Again. I reiterate. Remember when we thought George was the dumb one? #GopClownShowhttp://t.co/FcfXvjObWypic.twitter.com/d7PMKz8a8t

While Bush might be a Thatcher enthusiast, everyone else is just a bit confused.
Does Jeb realise she's not actually an American?

Margaret Thatcher doesn't even go here.

Putting Margaret Thatcher on bank notes makes me want to keep living in poverty so I don't have to see her smug face

$10 notes could take on a whole new range of uses.
If the USA are putting Margaret Thatcher on a bank note I suggest they choose the $1. Using $10 would make going to the toilet expensive.

Others have taken the opportunity to express their continuing dislike for Margaret Thatcher the Milk Snatcher.
Margaret Thatcher trending – She's back isn't she?! I always knew hell wouldn't put up with her for long. Protect your milk! #ZombieThatcher

If there's one thing we know for sure, it's that Maggie T herself would definitely approve.
Margaret Thatcher would also have put Margaret Thatcher on the $10
