H&M make embarrassing spelling mistake on t-shirts

Popular high street clothing store H&M has been left in an awkward position after misspelling the word 'genius' on a t-shirt.

The typo, which adds an extra 'o' to the word, appears in a Thomas Edison quote that has been printed on the t-shirts in large, orange block letters.

The full quote reads: 'Genious is one percent inspiration & ninety nine percent perspiration.'

The spelling mistake was instantly spotted by some eagle eyed shoppers and the shirt is no longer available to buy online.

This suggests that the Swedish retailer may have withdrawn the item from their stores once the mistake was realised, the MailOnline reports.

It's not the first time the popular high street store has been called out over their incorrect spelling.

One Twitter user picked up on another typo on one of their discount vouchers in January this year.

H&M shouldn't feel too stupid though especially when you consider what major English football club Crystal Palace did in 2004.

The BBC reported that the popular club found themselves red-faced after misspelling their own name on their official shirts.

The blue and red shirts bore the name 'Chrystal Palace' – adding an extra 'h' to the club's name.
