Pierce Brosnan's home in Malibu, California, has been damaged in a fire.

A YouTube video shows part of the building go up in flames.



The James Bond actor escaped any injury and was spotted outside the house at the time of the incident.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the fire broke out in the garage at around 10pm on Wednesday night. Fire services had it confined after 35 minutes before it could spread to the main part of the house.

The house is in one of Malibu's most exclusive ocean-front enclaves, and neighbours include Dustin Hoffman and Steven Spielberg.

NBC News reporter Kenny Holmes uploaded some pictures of the scene to his Twitter account, writing the caption: "Heavy smoke & fire last night from the garage of Pierce Brosnan's Malibu home. No injuries. Damage to garage/bedroom."


Fire crews confirmed a blaze had damaged part of the actor's house, but It is not yet known how the fire started.

Pierce, 61, is famous for his role in the James Bond film Die Another Day, and has also appeared in other films including November Man and Mamma Mia.
