Ridley and Tony Scott set to co-produce new Le Mans TV series

Tony and Ridley Scott, the movie-making brothers responsible for some of Hollywood's most memorable films (including Top Gun and Gladiator), have announced their intention to co-produce a new big-budget TV series based on Le Mans racing during the fifties and sixties.

Anyone unfamiliar with the glittering history of the 24 Hours of Le Mans might assume the savvy Scotts are simply treading in the uber-cool footsteps of Mad Men, the hit TV show which tells the story of advertising execs during the same period. But in truth the decade's racing has enough glamour, valour and tragedy to fill ten DVD box sets.
