Preston Court

Where else in the UK can you spend your wedding evening on a real life carousel? Preston Court has been voted one of the top 10 barn wedding venues, and we’re not surprised to see why. The carousel dates back to the 1880’s and is fully functioning, meaning you can spend your entire reception spinning around, if you really want. Preston Court also has a mini island, huge grounds and an almost fairytale-esque church.

20 unusual wedding locations in the UK you'll want to book immediately

But where to start? As much as we could dream of jetting off to somewhere warm and sunny to say the vows, it’s not a realistic goal for most people. So instead, we’ve found 20 unusual venues all around the UK, which means you should never be more than a few hours’ drive from somewhere far more exciting than a dreary hall.

We’re talking about the likes of a private island, a castle, a monastery, an art gallery and a treehouse. Some of these you’ll only be able to hold your reception in, but everybody likes a change of scenery. Not to mention, it gives you a lot more Instagram opportunities…
