2 Nurses Who Work at the Same Hospital Welcome Daughters Just 20 Minutes Apart: 'Special Day'

Two nurses from the same Kentucky hospital, who are also close friends, recently gave birth just 20 minutes apart.

Frankfort Regional Medical Center announced that "two of our dedicated nurses," Jenna Johnston and Katelyn Sams, welcomed their "healthy, beautiful baby girls" on Monday, Jan. 13.

“We couldn't have asked for a better place to bring our daughters into the world,” Johnston, a clinical charge nurse for diagnostic imaging, said of the hospital. “The care and kindness shown by our team mean everything to us.”

The hospital described Johnston and Sams, a director of inpatient care, as cherished colleagues who have supported many families with care and compassion.

“On this special day, they experienced that same care and compassion firsthand, with the added joy of knowing their daughters will grow up alongside one another,” the hospital said in a statement, making a sweet nod to baby girls Landry Micah and Caroline Lynne.

When the two newborns finally arrived in the world, cheers and words of congratulations were heard throughout Frankfort Regional's maternity ward, according to the hospital.

“It's rare to witness such a beautiful coincidence,” nurse Emily Dial, who helped deliver the babies alongside Dr. Stephen Hall, said in statement. “Seeing two friends and colleagues welcome their daughters on the same day, just minutes apart, is a memory I'll cherish forever.”

Frankfort Regional added that there are plans for a small celebration to mark the occasion.

“This heartwarming coincidence has brought smiles to everyone in our hospital community and serves as a reminder of the special bonds shared by our team,” they added.
