'Tis approaching the season of gift giving! But for many of us, the idea of spending half our wages on items that our family and friends may never use (or even like come January), can leave a bit of an 'icky' feeling in the stomach – which is where these charitable gifts and cards step in.

Each one of the brands or products below is tied to a worthy charity, or has signed up to a deserving positive impact pledge, meaning if you buy something from this round-up, you'll also be helping out a fantastic cause in the process. And really, what's more demonstrable of the Christmas spirit than that and giving a little light to somebody in need?

Whether it's fashion, tech, booze, a charming Christmas card or anything else between, these are our top picks of items that'll see a portion of the profits go to charity... and hey, if you're just in the mood to treat yourself to something nice and are looking for a reason to justify it, that works too!

Happy (guilt-free) spending, one and all:

1) Memories On Record T-Shirt by This Is Dementia

Designed by an ex-Burberry staffer, the 'Memories on Record' t-shirt references how powerful music can be for those with dementia (whilst looking cool in the process). Better still, 100% of each sale goes straight back to Dementia UK (as does everything else on the This Is Dementia site). They also have great tote bags on offer if that's more your... bag?

2) Lambswool blanket by the Tartan Blanket Co

Not only is it buttery soft, but this sustainable lambswool blanket is perfect for a) throwing on the bed and instantly conjuring up a Pinterest-worthy space and b) enrobing your entire body whilst watching every Christmas movie known to man. The Tartan Blanket Co also donate 2% of every purchase to humanitarian and environmental charities (last year they committed £60,000 to various organisations including Cool Earth, The Trussell Trust and the NAACP). We love to see it.

3) Scrunchies by The Silk Collection

London-based luxury lifestyle brand, The Silk Collection, pledges to give 10% of every sale to Mind, who provide free mental health information and support to those in need. We love these silks scrunchies, which will reduce breakage and keep your hair happy too.

4) Redbreast Whiskey

The Irish whiskey brand have once again teamed up with BirdLife International to create the perfect gift for any whiskey fan (and one that'll also help to protect birds and delicate ecosystems in the UK). The limited edition run, featuring a copper case which can be repurposed as a bird feeder later down the line, is set to raise almost £60,000 for the charity in total.

5) Socks by Bombas

Essentials brand Bombas operate a 'buy one, we'll donate one' ethos and so far, have gifted over 50 million items to various homeless shelters. In the UK, they've partnered with St Mungo's, a leading homelessness charity with national influence.

6) Christmas cards by the MS Trust

This glowing tree design warms our hearts and gives us all of the festive feels. You can grab a pack of 10 for just £4.50 and help support the MS Trust's vital work in researching into Multiple Sclerosis and offering support to those who have the condition.

7) Cookbook by Beder

Suicide prevention charity, Beder (named after Beder Mirjan, who sadly and unexpectedly took his life in 2017, inspiring his loved ones to create the organisation in his memory), has produced the most beautiful book. It's filled with recipes and reflective anecdotes from notable chefs (such as Gordon Ramsay and Yotam Ottolenghi), bloggers, nutritionists and advocates – all of whom share their personal mental health stories and advice, alongside delicious recipes.

8) Turntable by House of Marley

Created in conjunction with the legendary Bob Marley's family, every bit of tech that House of Marley sells results in a tree being planted by One Tree Planted. They also make great headphones, should this as-sustainably-made-as-possible record spinner not be calling your name (which tbh we'd find surprising).

9) Charitable gift card by Oxfam

Oxfam sell a great variety of charitable gift cards, which explain where your money is actually going – the 'Heroic Honey Bees' card funds the charity's efforts to train farmers in beekeeping (we all know how important our buzzy little friends are for, well, the entire world) and composting, helping them to produce more crops and therefore earn more money to support their families.

10) Christmas cards by the Royal British Legion

These peaceful cards are 100% recyclable and all profits go towards the Royal British Legion (as does everything else sold on the charity's Poppy Shop), who work hard to support the Armed Forces community (be they currently serving or veterans).

11) Charms by Recognised

Known on the site as 'popons', all of the profits from these charms (suitable for bracelets or necklaces) go straight to charities supporting people through cancer: Look Good Feel Better and Maggie's.

12) Candle set by Mallows Beauty

Featuring three festive and warming flavours, these candles by Mallows Beauty (along with all their other products, including some pretty incredible bath bombs) result in a 5% donation being made to mental health charities. The brand was created by Laura Mallows, who has anxiety, with the intention of empowering consumers and reminding us all of the importance of self-care.

13) Watches by Nordgreen

Every customer is given the option to donate part of the money from their purchase to one of three NGOs that Nordgreen have partnered with (they include rainforest-protecting Cool Earth, Pratham UK who educate children in India and Water For Good, providing clean water in the Central African Republic). Plus the watch designs are super slick and Scandi chic.

14) TOMS shoes

As a brand, TOMS are big believers in giving back to grassroots projects – and put their money where their mouth is by donating a third of all profits to community-focussed efforts. Having expanded outside of their original espadrilles range (you know the ones!), the shoemakers now do everything from these to-die-for boots to fluffy slippers.

15) Books from Cancer Research

The Cancer Research shop has a lovely collection of wellness-focussed books (amongst many other things) that see 100% of the profits donated towards life-saving research and caring for those who are unwell.

16) Plant pot by Save The Children

Every product on the Save The Children shop (which also sells puzzles, candles and other homely bits) sees 100% of every sale go towards helping change the lives of children across the world. How could you not be charmed by this cute plant pot?

17) Yoga mat by Barnardo's

All of the profits from any product purchased on the Barnardo's website will go towards helping vulnerable and disadvantaged children in the UK. We've especially got our eye on this bio rubber yoga mat, which also comes complete with a carry bag.
