This Sunday, runners took to the streets of London in the biggest ever London Landmarks Half Marathon, raising £11.8 million for various charities.

The 13.1-mile route weaves around some of London’s most iconic landmarks, starting at Pall Mall and passing Big Ben, Tower Bridge, St Paul’s and, for the first time this year, the Cheesegrater and Scalpel.

Among the 18,866 runners taking part this year, there were a few famous – from TV stars to former Olympians. Here’s their finish times and what they had to say upon crossing the finish line…

The much-loved British TV and radio presenter enjoyed the race so much last April that he came back for a second year. He clocked 01:50:00, knocking one minute and three seconds off his 2023 time. Afterwards he said: 'The wind was a killer, but it was so lovely! You get distracted halfway around thinking, "I didn’t know that about that church or landmark". It’s wonderful. The atmosphere is the loveliest thing, at every turn there’s something like a steel band.'

Vicky Pattinson

TV personality, jungle queen and now running newbie, Pattison took on the half marathon in aid of Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home, weeks after completing her Comic Relief Arctic challenge (a 50km Arctic expedition, tackled alongside three other female celebs). At the finish she said: 'I got through it! The atmosphere is absolutely incredible. I was struggling about mile 10 and the energy from the crowd and your fellow runners is palpable, it’s electric and it gives you that boost you need.' Taking to Instagram, beneath a carousel of race pics and a post-race video of her blistered foot she said: 'I am not a runner and found getting into my training for this post-Arctic super difficult.' Nevertheless, she beamed around the course.

Two decades after her last half marathon, she laced up her trainers to take on 13.1 miles in the capital, which she completed in 01:54:17, beside her daughter Lois. At the finish line she said: 'Such an amazing atmosphere all the way around the race, I really enjoyed it.'

BBC newsreader and RW columnist Sophie Raworth started the race with Logan and went on to run a 01:37:25 half marathon. Raworth describes herself as a 'slightly obsessive long distance runner' but this was her first LLHM. 'What a fantastic race,' she said. She’s now tapering for the big 26.2 miles in the capital later this month. Find out how she's overcoming her 'marathon demons' in her latest column for RW.

Actor, comedian, seasoned marathoner and former RW podcast guest Stephen Mangan completed the course in 01:45:40. At the finish line, he said: 'I feel absolutely destroyed. Someone turned the wind on. It was glorious, though. What a brilliant day.' His advice for people who want to take part in races like the LLHM but aren't quite there yet? 'Just do it. Just start. When you first start running you won't make a hundred yards and you'll think you'll never make it. But you just have to keep going. Get a good programme and keep doing it, and it's so satisfying.'
