The 10 best dressed from the 2024 NAACP Image Awards
This weekend saw the NAACP Image Awards take place in Los Angeles. The award show celebrates Black excellence in media and culture, and honoured names including Amanda Gorman and Usher, while paying tribute to the films such as The Colour Purple and American Fiction.
Queen Latifah headed up proceedings on stage, while there were also plenty of A-listers on hand to dish out the awards. When it came to the red carpet, there was much to enjoy, from Kerry Washington in Vivienne Westwood and Yara Shahidi in Ferragamo to Oprah continuing her love of purple in Prada.
Below, we round up our 10 favourite looks from the 2024 NAACP Image Awards.
Kerry Washington in Vivienne Westwood
Kerry Washington never puts a foot wrong on the red carpet, and this event was no exception. The actress chose a corseted Vivienne Westwood gown in green, which featured a dramatic tie detail down the back.
Yara Shahidi in Ferragamo
Yara Shahidi chose a black patent gown by Ferragamo for the occasion, which she teamed with an updo.
Sabrina Elba in Versace
Sabrina Elba looked sensational in a clingy Versace gown from the house's most recent catwalk collection, which she wore with minimal jewellery and slicked-back hair.
Oprah Winfrey in Prada
During her promotion for The Colour Purple, Oprah Winfrey has been wearing a lot of the hue, and for the NAACP Image Awards (where the film picked up a number of awards), Winfrey chose a gown by Prada with a brocade detail.
Nathalie Emmanuel in Alberta Ferretti
Nathalie Emmanuel opted for sleek and slinky in a partly sheer gown by Alberta Ferretti. She accessorised with dainty earrings.
Halle Bailey in Felicia Couture
Halle Bailey embraced the ballgown for the event. She chose an emerald green Felicia Couture design with a fishtail silhouette.
Amanda Gorman in Prada
Amanda Gorman brought some sparkle to the red carpet in the form of a floor-length sequinned gown by Prada.
Taraji P. Henson in Del Core
Taraji P. Henson marked the arrival of spring in a buttercup yellow gown by Del Core.
Ava DuVernay in Prada
Ava DuVernay was a big winner on the night, and her red-carpet look was one of our favourites. The director chose an off-the-shoulder embellished gown by Prada.
