Growing up, my friends used to beg me for my mom’s homemade brownie recipe. I would have been more than happy to give it to them if it weren’t for one problem: My mom doesn’t have a brownie recipe—she always uses a box mix. She doesn’t even add any personal touches to her go-to box mix, which happens to be Ghirardelli. She makes it just as the box says and it is so delicious that she has everyone fooled.

Leave it to Walmart to give us the hidden gem we didn’t know we needed. Its Great Value brownie mix is one of the cheapest options out there, and while it looks just like a generic box of brownie mix, customer feedback makes it clear that these brownies are special.
