This Customizable Console Table Is on My Holiday Wishlist

Sophie Lopez London House Tour - Living Room

When my husband and I bought our first home, we fell in love with its bright, open layout. The living room, dining room, and kitchen are all connected, which is great for entertaining, but we agreed it could use just a little bit of separation. So, we set off in search of a console table to put between the couch and the dining space to create some division between areas of the room.

Our house is only 800 square feet, which means I have to be pretty judicious when it comes to choosing furniture. Too many small pieces can make my little house feel cluttered, while pieces that are too large can be overpowering. I was struggling to find exactly the right piece until I came across the Slim Console Table from Room & Board. All at once, my problem was solved!

The Slim Console Table is a sleek, neat rectangle that, like its name suggests, fits easily into narrow or smaller rooms. The steel table features three shelves — two at the top, close together, and one more at the very bottom. Each table is hand-welded, creating small variations in color and unique markings that will make your table stand out.

The Slim Console Table comes in eight different sizes to suit your space, and it ranges from seven to 12 inches deep. Choose from 36 to 60 inches wide and 27 or 29 inches tall; there are several options, so it’s easy to find one that works for you.

Room & Board keeps the table stocked in a neutral, natural steel hue, but if you can wait to have one custom-made, you can choose from one of 16 additional colors, ranging from white to vibrant tangerine. It takes roughly two months for custom colors to ship, but if you find just the right color to match your existing decor, it’s definitely worth the wait. The table is made from sturdy steel with either a lacquer or powder-coat finish that’s durable and super low-maintenance.

The Slim Console Table’s simple, elegant design and clean lines make it the perfect choice to show off your decor. It has a small footprint, and while it draws the eye, it’s also a blank canvas. I took one look at the table and instantly imagined styling it with a stack of jigsaw puzzles (Different Puzzles and Piecework Puzzles are among my favorites that double as decor) and flowers in a big, beautiful vase. A moment later, I was daydreaming about filling it with all of my books or, better still, candles and room sprays and a decorative tray.
Whether you have a small, cozy home like mine or you want to put your favorite decor pieces on display, the Slim Console Table is a beautifully-designed piece that can do just that. I can’t wait to bring one home — just as soon as I decide what color I want.
