Sometimes, a crafter needs a simple project they can complete in an afternoon. And that's when small crochet projects are great – from cute book sleeves to fun earrings, they're great pieces for your home and wardrobe which won't take more than a few hours to make.

We love incorporating flower patterns into our projects and we're big fans of all things tulip inspired, so this quick crochet coaster is top of our list to try.

Give a gorgeous book sleeve
Book sleeves are such a fun granny square project and (depending on the size of the book!) can be worked up in a few hours.
To make a book sleeve, crochet a granny square approximately twice the width of your book. Stitch two of the edges together in an envelope shape and place your book inside. Stitch on a button to fasten the sleeve and you're done!
