For the Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards, Zendaya and her stylist Law Roach made sure to make a splash. The pair chose a beautiful vintage Yves Saint Laurent ensemble for the actress to wear, which was once owned by American businesswoman and trailblazer Eunice Johnson.

Taking to Instagram, Roach explained that the outfit – which consisted of a satin top and black skirt – was from his personal archive and was once owned by Johnson. "We pay homage," he wrote.

The puff-sleeved top and slinky skirt was from YSL's 1982 haute couture collection, which Zendaya teamed with black heels and Bulgari jewellery as she attended the magazine event in person and picked up an award.

Zendaya was joined at the event by her Euphoria and Wrinkle In Time co-star Storm Reid, who dazzled in a gold Prada gown. During the ceremony, Reid paid tribute to her on-screen sister, praising her for being such an inspiration.

"Thank you for the constant, like I say all the time, inspiration. There's lots of people that came into my life... I'm going to cry," she said. "There's lots of people that came into my life when [A Wrinkle in Time] came out and they were like, "Oh yeah, I'm here to support you." But you were one of those people that stuck to that. So, for that, thank you."
