Zendaya debuts super-long Cher-inspired hair on the red carpet

Zendaya was one of many stars to join the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony over the weekend, to celebrate the class of 2024 – which included the legendary Cher.

The Euphoria star was tasked with the honour of presenting the music icon on-stage at the event. Ever the style chameleon, and no stranger to "method dressing", Zendaya paid homage to Cher in a vintage Bob Mackie dress – but it was her hair and make-up that truly elevated the look to the next level.

While the actress has been spotted with a shorter, buttery blonde bob over the past few months, on Saturday evening she took a cue from Cher's beauty lexicon by sporting jet-black, hip-grazing, poker-straight hair, created by the hairstylist Coree Moreno.

The sharp middle parting and a high-shine finish echoed Cher's iconic hairstyle in the seventies, when the Believe singer would often use the flowing style as a base for accessories and updos.

For Zendaya's make-up, make-up artist Raoul Alejandre opted for dreamy shades of soft terracotta-brown (a classically seventies colour palette) with hints of sparkle on the eyes to mirror the glimmering gold ensemble. Sunkissed cheeks and a matching glossy lip captured the bohemian glamour of the decade. It also closely resembles one of Cher's beauty looks from the past.

Zendaya is no stranger to dramatic beauty transformations. She previously walked the Met Gala red carpet with bouquet of roses resting atop her head, embraced the 1950s party bob, and is fearless when it comes to experimenting with make-up.

If this beauty tribute is any indication, the 28-year-old is a clear front-runner for any future Cher biopics. Casting directors, take note.
