Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has met with a bipartisan delegation from the U.S. House of Representatives visiting Kyiv, the President’s Office reported on Oct. 30.

The delegation, consisting of Representatives James French Hill (R-AR), Mike Quigley (D-IN), and Stephen Lynch (D-MA), is currently visiting Ukraine.

The politicians discussed the continued "active and comprehensive support for Ukraine" from the United States and noted the importance of passing President Joe Biden's proposal to fund U.S. military aid to both Israel and Ukraine.

Zelenskyy also briefed the U.S. delegation about the situation on the battlefield and the pressing needs of the Ukrainian military.

He emphasized that Ukraine values the unity of the Republican and Democratic parties, the Biden administration, and both houses of the U.S. Congress in their support for Ukraine.

On Oct. 20, the White House requested nearly $106 billion from Congress for Ukraine, Israel, and national security needs.

Days later, the House of Representatives elected a new speaker – Mike Johnson. He is regarded as a supporter of former U.S. President Donald Trump and an opponent of aid to Ukraine.

After his election, he stated that he was open to discussing further support for Ukraine. He also said that the aid packages for Israel and Ukraine should be considered separately.
