Zara's trending £36 sandals are the style of the summer
It's been a mixed season in the sunshine stakes but that hasn't stopped us from pulling out our favourite summer sandals and adding a few new pairs to our footwear arsenal, with one hero style becoming the fashion pack's favourite. Toe-ring sandals have been dominating our Instagram feeds this month, and we love how such a small, simple metallic detail can lift some classic strappy leather – so cool, fresh and effortless.
Super chic and easy to style with everything from summer dresses to linen trousers, it's no wonder that toe-ring sandals are an influencer's darling right now. The trend began with US designer Emme Parsons' cult Laurie style (loved by Meghan Markle, £370 and freshly restocked at Net-a-Porter) but the high street has now duly followed suit. Zara's £35.99 take in particular is everywhere, including in Red Fashion Editor Jodie Dunworth's covetable wardrobe.
'So far I’ve worn them all summer (if we can even call this weather summer!)', she says. 'As soon as saw them I knew they'd be my sandal of the season (and everyone else's). Toe-ring sandals make the perfect substitute for heels if you're after something a bit dressy – say for a wedding guest outfit – but still want to be comfortable. Most come in black with either gold or silver toe rings, but you'll also find some lovely brown and ivory styles (try Reformation). Or, if you don't like the blingy embellishment, find some toe-loop sandals with leather 'rings' instead (look to Ancient Greek Sandals, who also do a fun holiday jelly version).
