Youth crashes bus into wall at bus station before fleeing the scene

POLICE are investigating an incident which saw a youth jump into a parked bus and crash it into a wall.

The incident occurred at Warrington Bus Station, which has been plagued with instances of anti-social behaviour over recent weeks, with police stepping up patrols in the area.

On November 17, the youth is said to have reversed the bus into a wall at the bus station before fleeing the scene before police arrived.

A dispersal order was also issued by officers that evening in order to remove a number of groups of youths from the area.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “On Thursday, November 17, police were called to Warrington Bus Station at 8.07pm following reports of anti-social behaviour.

“As officers were attending, the caller reported a youth entering a parked red and cream coloured single decker bus.

“The youth started the engine and reversed into a wall, before fleeing the scene when officers arrived.

“A dispersal order was put in place due to a number of groups of youths in the area.”

The spokesman added that no arrests were made, no injuries were sustained and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
