Ben & Jerrys is about to make your film snack dream (or nightmare) come true with its newest ice cream flavour – Chip Happens.

Part of its collaboration with Netflix, the controversial new flavour is chocolate with salted crisps, or how Ben & Jerry's puts it: "A cold mess of chocolate ice cream with chocolatey chips and crunchy potato chip swirls."

Launching the debatable new flavour, which is a homage to baking competition show Nailed It, the company adds: "Sometimes 'chip' happens and everything’s a mess, but we Nailed It! with this chip-filled limited batch.

"When smooth chocolate ice cream meets chocolatey chips & salty swirls, they pack a serious one-two crunch. The best part? There won’t be anything left to clean up."

The popular ice cream brand makes a good point about it being a mess-free way to eat crisps and, love it or hate it, this flavour is sure to cause a stir. If sugar and salt works together as a sweet and savoury combo for popcorn, Ben & Jerry's could be onto something when it comes to ice cream.

Chip Happens is already on sale in America and it lands soon in the UK, retailing for £5.49 at Asda.

It's a limited edition flavour so it won't be around for long, in case you're tempted to try it.

Ice cream fans are divided by the sweet and salty treat, with social media users taking to Instagram to express their opinion.

One said: "I tried it this evening and 😆👍💗".

Another user added: "Tastes 🤮🤢".

While one fan wrote: "I finally found this today and can confirm its Delicious! Such a good idea 👌".
