X Factor and Strictly star Alexandra Burke gives birth to first child
X Factor winner and Strictly Come Dancing star Alexandra Burke has announced the arrival of her first child.
Alexandra, who confirmed her pregnancy back in February, shared the happy news on social media this morning (4 July), revealing that she and partner Darren Randolph were now officially proud parents.
In a sweet Instagram post, Alexandra shared a photo of their baby's feet, writing: "Welcome to the world our little grape... We already love you more than words can say".
The arrival of the newest member of the Randolph-Burke clan comes after Alexandra opened up about her experience of pregnancy, admitting last month that she had initially "struggled" with accepting the changes her body had been going through.
"I'd often heard that pregnancy can change how you feel about yourself and your body but my goodness it's been true for me!" she told fans on Instagram.
"The first three or four months of pregnancy I really struggled accepting all the changes to my body because it was totally out of my control," she revealed. "I'll be honest and admit I've been through quite a few ups and down privately, BUT I now find myself in a totally different head space and I finally feel good about my body."
Reflecting on the "blessing" of "growing a little human", Alexandra said that she would strive to be kinder to herself and her body moving forward.
"I didn't realise how much I used to worry about stupid things before this whole amazing experience, for what I now realise was for NO REASON!" she added.
"So I guess what I'm trying to say, pregnancy aside, is that we must try to love our bodies more rather than looking for negatives or comparing ourselves to others."
