The world's last remaining Blockbuster rental store in Deschutes County, Oregon, is now available to rent via Airbnb for just £3 a night.

Sandi Harding, the store's manager, has transformed the iconic building into a 90s-themed 'summer sleepover' and is inviting film fanatics to rewatch some of their favourite classics like old times — but you'll have to be quick.

Surrounded by Blockbuster's traditional DVDs, the middle of the store has been revamped into a cosy seating area, with a sofa bed, bean bags, a large television, mood lighting, carpet, and, of course, plenty of popcorn.

Tempted? Guests can attend the intimate sleepover at the store by requesting to book one of the three individual, one-night reservations on either September 18th, 19th or 20th. Stays will cost just $4 (around £3.06) and movie rentals will come in at $3.99 (£3.05).

There will be social distancing guidelines in place and all of those lucky enough to stay overnight should be from the same household. Currently, due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, only those from the local area are able to book.

Sandi had the idea as she wanted to give back to her local community during these uncertain times. 'Over the past few months, we've been missing the regular visits from friends, neighbours and tourists from around the world. So, we're opening our store to three quarantine pods of Deschutes County guests for a socially-distanced movie night, just like those of decades past,' explains Sandi on the listing.

'As the last standing location in the world, our Blockbuster store is an ode to movie magic, simpler times and the sense of community that could once be found in Blockbuster locations around the world.'

To celebrate the world's last Blockbuster, Airbnb will also make a donation to the Humane Society of Central Oregon — a longtime partner of the store close to Sandi's heart.
