Woman celebrates her 100th birthday in the same house she was born in
A woman has celebrated her 100th birthday - and still lives in the same house she was born in.
Millie Foss arrived into the world on St George's Day in 1920, and last month marked reaching the landmark age.
On her big day, the centenarian received a card from the Queen, delivered by the police force and postal service on the Channel Island of Guernsey.
Throughout her entire life she has never once moved home - spending all her years in the same house on Route Militaire, near La Grève, Guernsey.

Growing up, Millie went to the Vale School on the island, and then to the local Girls’ Intermediate.
She was taught how to play the piano by her mother and went on to give lessons until her retirement at 87 years old.
Keith Austin, her cousin, said she has an amazing memory and is still in contact with many of her old pupils, and remembers teaching tennis star Heather Watson.
Her nephew, Andre Austin, said: "Millie was born on St George’s Day 1920 in the same house she has lived in for the last 100 years.
"Millie was taught the piano by her mother and went on to teach until her retirement at 87 years old.
"She has an amazing memory and is still in contact with many of her old pupils and remembers teaching Heather Watson.
"She loved gardening and travelling and driving on the continent and still keeps in contact with friends she made in Austria and Switzerland.
"Her real passion was driving and she drove for 76 years, only stopping, under protest, when her sight deteriorated.

"She still loves going out with friends for a coffee and will no doubt carry on when we get back to normal."
JP Le Bretron, from Guernsey Police - who helped deliver her special card from Her Majesty - said: "A 100th birthday is a pretty special day for anybody, but during this kind of pandemic, it’s all the more difficult for a person to celebrate with their friends and family.
"So once we heard about it, we wanted to be able to doing something to show our appreciation and help them celebrate."
Millie has two nephews, Ken and Denis, who live in England with their families.
Keith and his wife, Val, support her locally along with their daughter Chantal, son Andre, grandson Ryan and many of her friends.
