This is the disturbing moment when a woman plummeted from Westminster Bridge yesterday during the London terror attack.

Video shared by the BBC shows a small, black figure falling around six metres in to the water below.

Police managed to pull her from the Thames alive, as emergency services rushed on to the bridge to come to the aid of those killed and injured when a speeding Hyundai 4×4 was deliberately driven in to them.

It's not known whether the woman jumped off the bridge to avoid being hit by the unnamed terrorist's car, or fell from the impact. The BBC says she has serious injuries.

The death toll from yesterday afternoon's attack now stands at five, including the attacker who was shot dead by police.

Forty people were injured, including two officers who remain in a critical condition, French and British school children and Korean and Romanian tourists. They were all on the bridge when the car struck the pavement.

Police have named the unarmed officer who was fatally stabbed by the terrorist outside Parliament as 48-year-old dad, Keith Palmer.

He had been in the Metropolitan Police for 15 years.

Tributes to PC Palmer have been pouring in overnight.

London Mayor, Saqid Khan said he was "killed doing his duty".

The attacker has not been named, but he is reportedly known to detectives. They think he was motivated by Islamic extremism.
