There are a lot of reasons relationships don’t pan out: different interests, not enough time to put in proper effort or a lack of mutual hobbies — but what about being too attractive?

One woman claims her reason for not finding love isn’t because of personality differences or working too often, but because she is just too beautiful to find someone who truly loves her. Her suitors, blinded by her beauty, are constantly falling at her feet – but they don’t interest her.

Dawn Cousins is a 44-year-old mother of four who appeared on the British daytime show “This Morning.” After her long-term relationship ended more than 14 years ago, Cousins thought she’d meet someone new who could keep up with her good looks and fun lifestyle. Her kids, ranging in age from 17 to 22, think she needs to settle down.

“They feel like I need to lower my standards to find someone that is a similar age as me and just settle down before they put me in a nursing home,” she said on the show. “But I am saying no because I have the advantage of looking good so I want someone I am really attracted to and connect to emotionally. I want to enjoy the second part of my life. I am not just going to settle because I am 44 and not married.”

The London-based receptionist admits that while she appreciates her children’s concerns, she doesn’t find herself attracted to men her own age.

“I look half my age and I have men drooling over me all the time, aged from 18 to ancient,” she told the TV hosts. “I can’t date a fat, unattractive, old aged man when I look so young and beautiful… Guys over 40 are all putting on weight and the women have got a lot of wrinkles. I haven’t got any. I’m not in the same bracket as them.”

Listing a personal YouTube channel and clubbing with her daughters as some of her hobbies, Cousins claims she is much more fun than stereotypical 40-year-old women. Despite her confidence, viewers of the TV segment took to Twitter to express their skepticism over the mom’s perceived dating life.

“Looking half my age is a nightmare? She looks her age. Her problem is her personality is utterly grotesque. Wouldn’t touch her,” tweeted one user.

“Oh my Lord! This woman is crazy! Too good looking for love?! She has a very ugly soul and she must be looking in a circus mirror,” added another.

The mom-of-four added that she is often mistaken for her daughters’ sister, and as someone who prefers younger men, she finds it flattering. Despite her affinity for less-mature men, she claims she would never date a friend of her daughters.

Cousins plans to move to the United States in the near future to find true love.
