Liquid eyeliner rarely keeps its promise.

By the end of a working day (or night out), our perfectly-crafted cat eye will have melted off on one eye, and faded on the other.

It’s not a good look if you don’t like frightening people.

One eyeliner, however, proved to beat all others after a nurse from Boston, US, ended up in a car crash – and it didn’t budge.

25-year-old Shelby Pagan – who was wearing Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner at the time – pulled onto the side of the road to call roadside assistance after running out of fuel.

While she was on the phone, she was hit by a distracted driver going at 55 miles per hour.

Despite her mascara running down her face and all her other products being wiped off on the way to the hospital, one product stayed on: the Tattoo Liner.

Pagan then left a hilarious review on the site of the product.

“This product is truly amazing,” she wrote.

“June 28th I was pulled over in my car calling for roadside assistance when a distracted driver hit me going 55mph.

“I was taken via air ambulance to the ER when I remained for 8 hours. My mascara was running down my face from crying and all other products had been wiped off in the transfer to the hospital.

“But not my tattoo eyeliner. I am posting a pick to show you, this product lasts and looks amazing through anything. Never buying any other liner again.”

The excellent review was picked up by Twitter user Lahari, whose tweet about the review has gathered up more than 200,000 retweets and almost 600,000 likes since.

It turns out that Pagan wasn’t the only one to have tested the liner’s strength during an accident either.

Other women who’d recently been injured chimed in too with pictures of their own.

Considering how many people have been hurt wearing it, is the eyeliner cursed?

If it’s as good as everyone’s saying, using it sounds like a worthwhile risk.
