Maintaining a tight frame after weight-loss can be hard as the slim-down itself; some may be discouraged by regaining a few pounds — but not for Ioana Chira.

The social media influencer says she’s happier now at size 14 than she was at the peak of her weight-loss.

It wasn’t long ago Chira weighed more than 250lbs, but after committing to a strict diet and regular exercise she slimmed down to size 10.

But a life of extreme fitness became unsustainable for the redhead, who admitted she’d avoid eating out for fear of putting on weight, becoming reluctant to look in the mirror.

Now, at a happy medium of size 14, Chira says her body is where she’s always wanted it to be.

“The difference between then and now is not massive in terms of pounds, however, my body looks totally different,” she tells the Metro.

“The hardest thing in this journey is to accept your body and the changes that happen. Getting a functional partnership between your brain and body is a continuous fight.”

“When I was at my lowest weight, everyone would say how good I looked, however, I didn’t feel that way. I would feel down most of the time and wouldn’t even want to look in the mirror and see all the cellulite, stretch marks, and saggy boobs.

“I always believed that being slim would make me happy, however, when I got there it was not the case. I’ve realized that happiness is something beyond size and as long as I keep my body healthy and strong – I’m a winner.”

In Romania, Chira claims “everyone over 125lbs is considered fat,” which has a subsequent effect on her self-confidence.

Now the fitness enthusiast takes to Instagram to show other women that healthy bodies come in all shapes and sizes.

‘There are millions of girls like me and I want to show them they can build their own life and happiness,’ she says.
