In a statement released by Sharn Hughes' family following her tragic death, her loved ones said it was "her curiosity" that led to the awful incident.

"Her curiosity led to her wanting to see the lights at Gwrych Castle which, unfortunately, led to her untimely tragic death. She was hoping to take a photo and send it to a friend," the statement read.

The family went on to implore others not to risk the same danger if passing the area. "We urge people to take so much care and remember it is a busy main A-class road," they said in the statement.

Sharn Hughes, a wife and mother-of-two, was described as "selfless," with "a joyous, charitable attitude to life," by her family. "We'll miss her kindness forever," they added.
