A British designer has just created the world’s most expensive shoes.

After creating the world’s most expensive garment, Debbie Wingham set out on another challenge: footwear.

An unnamed (and exceedingly rich) family commissioned the designer to create the shoes as a birthday present for one lucky person.

Taking hundreds of hours to put together, the finished pair are worth £11.4 million and contain some of the world’s rarest stones.

Rare pink and blue diamonds worth £9.8 million alone encrust the shoes while four three-carat white diamonds and 1000 pointer diamonds line the edges.

Every single one of the stones is set with platinum with the zip and plaque on the sole made out of solid gold.

The shoes themselves are leather painted with 24-carat gold and stitched together with 18-carat gold thread.

The collaboration with cake-inspired shoe designer Chris Campbell took hundreds of hours to put together.

In the past, Wingham has also created an £11.7 million piece of clothing. The Red Diamond Abaya is encrusted with 2000 stones including the rarest and most expensive red diamond, giving it the title of the world’s most expensive garment.

As well as wardrobe essentials, Wingham is also into baking, creating a £48.5 million cake. Commissioned by a wealthy Arab family for their daughter’s birthday, Wingham created a six-foot long cake in 2015.

Designing it in the style of a catwalk complete with front row guests, the baking success featured pink, yellow and white diamonds as well as another 4000 stones including amethysts and emeralds.

We can’t wait to see what she gets up to next.
