The past few years, supermarkets have been taking their hot cross buns to a whole new level with wild and wacky flavours. We’ve had M&S’s Cheese & Marmite Hot Cross Buns, Asda’s pizza-inspired Tomato & Red Leicester Hot Cross Buns and even a Hot Cross Bun Bread & Butter Pudding from Aldi. But now it’s Sainsbury’s turn to pimp their buns.

The supermarket has launched Strawberries & Cream Hot Cross Buns, which are made with white chocolate, dried cranberries and double cream, so you know they’re rich AF.

Sainsbury’s describes them as being “full of the taste of summer, these fruity hand-crossed buns are crammed with luscious strawberries, zingy cranberries and smooth white chocolate. They’re enriched with British double cream for extra flavour and baked using a sourdough starter for a plump and airy texture.”

We’re guessing these will taste a bit like when you have scones slathered with strawberry jam and thick cream. Only, these might actually be better…

You can pick up a four-pack of Sainsbury’s Taste The Difference Strawberries & Cream Hot Cross Buns now for £1.25.

But if you like your hot cross buns with more chocolate and less fruit, why not try the supermarket’s Chocolate & Caramel Hot Cross Buns?

These indulgent fruit-free buns have chunks of rich dark chocolate and two types of fudge: salted caramel and toffee. They’re made with brown sugar to add an extra caramel hit, and Sainsbury’s special sourdough starter gives them a uniquely plump, pillowy texture.

These are also £1.25 for a four-pack.

Here’s an idea… one pack of the strawberry ones and a pack of these, then everyone’s happy?
