Winds Push Snow 'Dunes' Over Plain in New York's North Country

Winds pushed snow “dunes” across an open plain in northern New York on Friday, February 3, as a local weather station measured windchills below -40 degrees Fahrenheit in the region.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a windchill warning and a hazardous weather outlook in the area and said dangerously cold windchills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as five minutes.
