While we've been kept abreast of the royal baby boy's good behaviour and sleeping pattern so far, we’re still awaiting patiently to find out what Prince William and Kate have named him.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s names were officially announced two days after their arrivals in 2013 and 2015 respectively, but there might be a very royal reason why the third royal child’s name hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Yesterday (April 25), the British royal family were out in force in France and Britain to commemorate Anzac day, and so it could be possible that Wills and Kate didn’t want to overshadow the special day of remembrance.

Royal etiquette dictates that royal members should never eclipse other royal events of significance, mainly out of respect and courtesy - which is why, for example, Meghan Markle didn’t arrive at Pippa Middleton’s wedding ceremony and attended the reception instead afterwards.

Royal expert Penny Junor suggested that there was a strong possibility the name has been delayed because of Anzac day, telling Good Housekeeping UK: “It’s perfectly possible that they delayed the announcement about the baby’s name so as not to overshadow Anzac Day.

"It's just lucky that the baby itself arrived a couple of days before. I don’t think they would have delayed that had the days clashed - whatever etiquette might dictate!"

The day commemorates the first major battle involving Australian and New Zealand forces during World War One.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended a remembrance service at Wellington Arch in London's Hyde Park Corner at dawn, with Harry laying wreaths to pay tribute to Australia and New Zealand's war dead.

William marked the event by attending a remembrance service at Westminster Abby with both Harry and Markle.

As the 35-year-old royal arrived for the service, he told well-wishers: "[The baby's] Sleeping's going reasonably well so far, so he’s behaving himself which is good."

And when another member of the crowd suggested the name Alexander, he joked: "Funny you should say that."

Royal fans are hoping that the Duke and Duchess to announce the baby’s name very, very soon – with speculation he could be named Arthur or James, with Philip as a middle name.
