Meghan Markle has jetted back to her home country weeks before her wedding to Prince Harry in order to complete her visa application. The actress was spotted at Chicago's O'Hare Airport on Thursday at 11am and, according to the Chicago Tribune, will be in the city until Sunday evening.

Markle attempted to go incognito in an all-black ensemble and a White Sox baseball cap as she made her way through the airport, but was joined by a security team of four, meaning she wasn't able to be quite as undercover as she would have liked.

The actress spent just 10 minutes at the VFS Global U.K. Visa Application Center and has reportedly paid the $1,500 "premium processing" fees to speed up her application, meaning that she should have her visa in a couple of days.

According to TMZ, Markle is likely to have have applied for a family visa. Once she is married, she will be able to apply for permanent citizenship, a process that can take up to three years.

Although Markle grew up in Los Angeles, she spent a lot of time in Chicago, having attended Northwestern University, where she graduated in 2003. However, it seems unlikely that she will be making a visit to her old campus this weekend after a spokesperson for the university told the Chicago Tribune that they weren't aware of an plans.
