BBC Two's Autumnwatch is back on our screens for the 2021 series but there is one presenter missing: Iolo Williams.

Springwatch, Autumnwatch and Winterwatch have always been presented live by the four wildlife experts, Chris Packham, Michaela Strachan, Gillian Burke and Iolo Williams. They have been joined by new faces – most recently Chris's stepdaughter Megan McCubbin – but the core four always do what they can to make the seasonal shows.

Iolo Williams announced that he would not appear live on Autumnwatch 2021 on Twitter, on 17th October, saying: "Unfortunately, I won’t be live on Autumnwatch this year. The dates had to be changed to accommodate live coverage of the FA Cup and the new dates clashed with a week’s guiding on Mull. I’ll miss the team but I’ll be back for Winterwatch. Good luck team!"

So it appears to be a diary and schedule clash that has lead to Iolo's absence. His followers were quick to share their disappointment but wished him well on his adventures.

As for the remaining presenters, Chris and Michaela will be together, live, from Wild Ken Hill Farm in Norfolk, while Gillian and Megan will make appearances from other locations in the UK.
