A quick scroll through Hilary Duff’s Instagram will show you that she’s very much ready to give birth, having recently posted a series of pregnancy portraits with the caption: “Hey baby, I love you very much... however, I don’t wanna be wombmates anymore! I want to hold you in my arms!”

As she prepares to welcome her third bundle of joy, Hilary – who’s mum to son Luca, nine, and daughter Banks, two – has spoken about her apprehension regarding the new arrival’s sex.

Hilary and husband Matthew Koma don’t know the sex of their second child together, but speaking on Dr. Berlin’s Informed Pregnancy Podcast, the Lizzie McGuire star said she’s feeling “a little scared” about the prospect of having another daughter.

“I know the blue hair seems like we do know, but we really don’t,” Hilary joked about her hair colour. “I’m actually a little scared to have another girl because Banks... was a tough cookie as a baby, but she’s so great now, so I could see it. But then I don’t know, in my mind, I’m like, ‘Maybe she’s my only little princess and she’s going to have her rough-and-tumble brothers.’”

As for guesses about the sex? The jury’s out on that one.

“Everyone that’s close to me thinks boy, and then everyone that’s more of a stranger that’s like: ‘What are you having?’ - they’re like: ‘We call girl,’” Hilary said.

Hilary’s told Dr. Berlin she’s felt “guilty” about not being able to sense the sex of her unborn child.

“Honestly, I’m just saying boy,” she said when pushed for a guess.

“I really don’t have a strong feeling about it either way, which made me feel guilty for the longest time.

“I was like: ‘I should know, it’s inside my body. It’s my baby, I should know.’ I don’t know, and now I’m okay with just not knowing. But I think it’s a boy.”
