Why the Duchess of Cambridge and Doria Ragland were not at Meghan's baby shower

The Duchess of Sussex returned to London on Thursday morning, having spent around five days in New York catching up with some of her closest friends.

Serena Williams, Amal Clooney, Jessica Mulroney and Abigail Spencer were among the celebrity pals present at her baby shower at The Mark hotel in the Upper East Side.

However, the Duchess of Cambridge and Meghan's mother Doria Ragland did not appear to have attended the bash.

But there's a good explanation for their absence.
