We've all been there – you've nailed the perfect photo for social media, then all you have to do is come up with the caption... something easier said than done. Something it appears even celebrities struggle with on occasion too, as eagle-eyed fans have spotted that Kim Kardashian-West uploaded a series of photos of herself and her sister, Kourtney Kardashian, to Twitter, only to delete them and re-post a couple of hours later. Complete with a new caption.
Over on Instagram, Kim also amended the caption of her holiday snaps with Kourt, after some of the comments started throwing a bit of *shade* at her original caption. The images show the two sisters on a recent trip to Turks and Caicos, looking gorgeous hanging off the edge of a boat in the ocean. Kim originally accompanied the post with the words "somehow in this crazy life we found each other 🧜♀️🧜♀️ "
However, after people started pointing out that... well, technically she and Kourtney didn't "find" each other, as they're sisters (kind of hard to miss somebody who lives in your house from birth, right?), it appears Kim had a change of heart and decided to edit the caption over on Instagram.
On Twitter, she went a step further and deleted her tweet, only to re-share it a couple of hours later – with a new caption referencing one of her most iconic moments instead. Still with me?
Such initial neggy comments from fellow social media users on Instagram included "but y’all are sisters so you didn’t really have to search :/" and "You’re literally sisters what are you even talking about". So, erm, yep. Kindness is free, folks!
In her new caption, Kim instead threw it back to the now infamous moment from 2011 where she lost her diamond earring in the ocean, while on a family trip to Bora Bora. After noticing her missing jewel, Kim had a major freak out in the water and began crying while clutching her ear, before Kourtney (as deadpan as ever) chimed in with, "There are people dying, Kim!"
Kim's new caption – "Kourtney lost her earring in the ocean so I helped her find it" – pays homage to that iconic moment:
While we're a fan of both captions, we do appreciate the reminder of EarringGate.
