Why Chrissy Teigen didn't take her husband's name
Deciding whether or not to take your husband's name after marriage is a very personal choice. Some women feel that do so makes them more connected to their spouse and children, others feel that it's an outdated tradition that harks back to the idea of belonging to your partner.
For Chrissy Teigen, who still goes by her maiden name, her decision wasn't related to either of these. She doesn't see why she should change her name given that her husband - whose real name is John Stephens - didn't decide to keep his. 'John Legend' is a nickname he was given at high school that he kept as his stage moniker.

She was also quick to point out that she isn't against women taking their husband's name, but it's just not something she ever got round to.
the best part is, I am not anti-taking the last name at all. I was going to. just never got around to it and it isn't even the name he goes by. it wasn't some grand statement not to. I just don't see how the choice affects anyone else - why do people care so much!
