Despite there being lots of lovely red carpet looks at the Emmys, there was one cast that was noticeably absent from the ceremony: Bridgerton.

The show was up for a whopping 12 (!) categories during the evening, including the prestigious Outstanding Drama Series, but there were a distinct lack of Featheringtons and Bridgertons in attendance.

One person who did show up, though, was The Duke himself, with Regé-Jean Page losing out in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series to Josh O'Connor in The Crown. Reports that his spoon also got an invite are unconfirmed.

So, where were the likes of Phoebe Dyvenor, Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley? Well, Nicola Coughlan, who plays Penelope Featherington in the hit Netflix series, previously told ET that the cast were currently filming for season 2 of the show, and sadly wouldn't be able to make it.

"It's the biggest awards in television, so to be recognised [with so many nominations] is phenomenal," the actress said prior to the ceremony. "We were all super excited."

She continued, "We [are] in the middle of filming season 2 right now, so the new season 2 group chat was going off. It's called 'Bridger-2,' which I picked that name and felt very proud. I felt like, 'That's so smart!'"

The actress also added that sadly she probably wouldn't end up watching the show live, either. "I’m trying to figure out what time it will be, it'll probably be at like 2 a.m. for us maybe and I’m filming the next day so I’ll be asleep. Very glamorous, isn't it?"

While Bridgerton lost out in the Outstanding Drama category to The Crown, they did scoop up the award for Outstanding Period And/Or Character Hairstyling. Congratulations!
