Jennifer Coolidge will return to The White Lotus season 2 in the role of socialite Tanya McQuoid.
The HBO dramedy was renewed for a second season in August 2021, but this time the show will be taken out of Hawaii and follow a new group of people at another White Lotus property in Italy.
Despite the fact that Coolidge's return was confirmed in October, it was unclear whether she would reprise the role of Tanya or play a different character, until now.
When speaking to TVLine about the show's second season, Coolidge seemed confident that it would live up to fans' expectations.
"I do think people will like [season 2], based on the scenes that I've witnessed of other people," she shared. "I think people are really going to be riveted."
Although fans had to say goodbye to most of season one's cast members, creator Mark White previously hinted that "some of them would come back" here and there, along the lines of the Marvel Cinematic Universe where we see recurring characters while also allowing "the series to open up to new characters".
So, now that Coolidge's character has returned, the door is open for some of the other original characters to do the same.
Joining Coolidge for season 2 is Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation), who confirmed that filming was well underway in April. She told Cosmopolitan:
"It's pretty wild. We've taken over this entire hotel… It's cool how the location informs the show. Sicily is such a culturally rich place. I mean, there's a literal volcano that has erupted since we’ve been here. It's a very charged environment. It's going to feel like that."
Will Sharpe (Sherlock), Theo James (Divergent), Meghann Fahy (The Bold Type), Tom Hollander, Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos) and Oscar winner F Murray Abraham will also star.
A release date for The White Lotus season 2 has not been announced.
